Ring in Spring with a New Resolution

Ring in Spring with a New ResolutionIt's March and finally signs of spring are in the air! If you are like most people, the New Year's Resolutions you made in January are forgotten...why not make a new resolution to help children and youth in your community?

We are asking our donors to give up ONE of their favourite daily, weekly, or monthly luxuries. By doing so, you will be helping to support vulnerable children and youth suffering from abuse, neglect, and poverty. Your pledge to us can be as simple as giving up your daily latte or bi-weekly manicure. To you the change may seem small, but to us the impact will be HUGE.

Program Spotlight: Infant Wellness

Infant Wellness

Bringing a new baby home can be a very stressful time for any parent. They are nervous about feeding, bathing and sleeping schedules. For most, friends and family help to make the transition smooth. But for some, they have no support system and are left struggling to cope with their new-found responsibilities of parenthood. Often, those without support need it the most as they are likely to be young, single or struggling with poverty.

The Infant Wellness Fund provides six specially trained Registered Nurses with the medical and infant supplies they need to support parents of babies up to the age of eighteen months. These Nurses ensure the needs of the babies are met and the parents are aware of the different community support programs available to them. All of the parents assisted in by the Infant Wellness Team suffer from poverty, with many being teenage parents or single mothers.

This year, as in the past, our donors inspired us by reaching a record number of children and youth. On behalf of our children, youth, staff and volunteers we THANK YOU for your ongoing support!
